We worked with people and organisations to learn about issues that people with disability face:

• in the community
• when having contact with Council staff.

We are working to help people with disability feel like a real part of the community.

This includes:

bullet  seeing people with disability in pictures and stories

bullet  information that is clear and shows respect

bullet  inclusive activities in the community. end of list

We are making sure new designs are inclusive from the start.

This means new community spaces will always be inclusive.

We are helping our staff understand disability.

This includes the Sunflower Hidden Disability program.

This program helps people with disabilities that you can’t see get the support they need.

We asked the community to help us make new rules.

We did this in accessible ways, including sharing information in:

• Easy Read
• Auslan
• videos.
